Peter Ludlow Peter is a professor of philosophy at Northwestern University and, according to MTV, is one of the 10 most influential video game players of all time. He has done much interdisciplinary work on the interface of linguistics and philosophy.

He has also established a research program outside of philosophy and linguistics. Here, his research areas include conceptual issues in cyberspace, particularly questions about cyber-rights and the emergence of laws and governance structures in and for virtual communities.

"Our Future in Virtual Worlds" (you can read it in english, italian and portuguese of brazil) is an essay about our online lives.

«I think that», writes Peter, «soon many people will find that their business lives, love lives, social lives, artistic lives, and political lives will be moving online».

Issues as democracy and citizenship, as well as the political organization of these platforms, will be crucial.
